Just Nan's Ghoulies & Ghosties



I've had this as a WIP since last year and finally pulled it back out to finish it. I call it 'this-makes-absolutely-no-sense-Halloween-cross-stitch' because it's the first cross stitch piece that I really don't understand! :-) I think that is why it became a WIP in the first place LOL

I wonder if it supposed to be a whirly-gig, or noise maker that goes round and round on the base. While not styled exactly like this pattern, I have some replicas of some Halloween noisemakers and vintage decorations that are like that. I've seen the originals (well out of my price range!lol) at antique markets that have the similar structure.

I love their fanciful interpretation, and your stitching is lovely! I'm happy that you finished it! Every Halloween needs a little mystery! lol
