Couple of Halloween Finishes

Hi,

Here are a couple of finishes I have. The first one is My Pretties (Nevermore!) from Plum Street Samplers. I am working on the second of three pieces from this chart pack now.

The second piece is My Aching Bones from San Man Originals. It was a chart from her Secret Shop that is sent only to her newsletter subcribers.

I hope to have a couple of more pictures to post in a few days.

Until next time. Happy Stitching!

April :)

M Designs Halloween Tree

I bought this pattern and everything for it in October 2007. I didn't like the fabric used in the model so I picked a piece of green and then bought a skein of silks and the button pack.

This is what I have done so far. It is my incentive piece with the OnlyOneEwe BB. I will stitch on this on Saturdays til it is done. I am also stitching this with an online friend.

Meeting & Greeting!

Good Afternoon!

I just received my invite, and wanted to introduce myself, even though I don't have a photo to share at the moment.

I have just finished kitting together "The Giving Sisters" by NotForgotten Farms, and will be sharing my progress as soon as there is something to see!

In a turn that seems so counter to where my cross stitching normally takes me into the highly detailed, intricate projects, I totally love Halloween primitives. Maybe because they fit in more with how I love to decorate for Halloween.

We have a middle class Victorian home, and I love decorating for Halloween, using paper or papier mache vintage pieces, or replicas made the old fashioned way. Anything made of natural fibers is a big draw for me! I tend to stay away from the more modern decorations, but admittedly, some glass and black metal have snuck in there too. lol My only complaint about Halloween, is that it is over too soon. There should be a whole "Halloween Season"!

But all of Halloween decor is fun, as are the cross stitching patterns that I see. I've already got a nice stash all calling my name, and will no doubt be adding to it as the new patterns come out. Heck, I've still got some on my wish list that have been out for a while now!

And then seeing all of your fine stitching will be inspirational too. I've already seen some very cute pieces! It is going to be fun to see what else you all share!

Thanks so much, Karen, for letting me join your group! I'm going to enjoy getting to know you all!

BTW... A couple of stitchers ask me if they could use the 32ct Kermit by PTP fabric. I consider it a compliment. Go for it!!!

Pumpkin progress

Pumpkin - The Sweetheart Tree
JCS October 2008 issue
DMC, 28 ct silkweaver

I stitched some more on Pumpkin and have a little more backstitching to do and then add some beads. i have one color of the beads but I had to order the other color.

Trick Or Treat Fairy Progress

This is my progress on Nora Corbett's Trick Or Treat Fairy. It is third time lucky stitching this design. The first time I cut the fabric too small....second I decided I'd rather stitch it on aida than even weave.....and lucky third.....I threw the aida into a crockpot of strong coffee and let it bubble away for an hour or so outside (I used home brand coffee and it STANK!), swished it through some cold water to get the residue and most of the smell out....and you can see the result! I'm pleased with it. I won't be stitching on it for a couple of weeks because I have some catching up to do on other pieces. I look forward to when I can start it again.

Pumpkin

I started Pumpkin by Sweetheart Tree. It is in the JCS October 2008 issue. Hoping to finish it next Sunday. I didn't have the gingham fabric that it called for and I don't care for the charm that is on it so I will leave that out. I also need to buy 1 of the bead colors and I can get that anytime, hopefully at Michaels tomorrow night.

Spooky Tree

I stitched this up today. Spooky Tree by Elizabeth Designs from the JCS October 2008 issue. I need to buy the bast that go in the top corners. I had to substitute 2 of the WDWs for GAST.
